Something New...Finally!!

Okay, so I got a free moment today (only had one kid around!) so I decided to try to take some pictures of Mr. Brody. You may remember him from an earlier post. Well, he is 3 months old now and I have the pleasure of babysitting him a couple of times a week (which just breaks my heart, ya know!). Well, I have him more this week than ever before so it gave me extra chances to "shoot" him. The sun was in and out of the clouds today and since I take most of my pictures in front of the huge windows here in my house using natural light, I didn't end up getting them in focus quite how I wanted but here is what I got. Just wanted to share!!

Long time...

Sorry I haven't been posting in quite some time. Not long after my last post, my husband and I got our first set of foster kids!! They keep me super busy but even more than that, I have lots of pictures of them but I can't post them on here due to privacy of the kids in foster care:( I do have some of my gorgeous nieces from their visit in May so I'll have to post them, just not right this second. Well, that's all I have to share for now. Check back soon!

Baby Brody

Okay, so Monday, my friend Laina gave birth to her first baby. A boy named Brody Fred. The name Fred came from several men in his family including his Great-Grandfather who passed away one week to the day before he was born:( I was able to see them yesterday but was a little loopy from a procedure I had done earlier that morning so I decided to go back today and take a few pictures. He is such a wiggle worm already so I didn't get many pictures but I thought I'd share a few that I got. He's very sweet and loves to snuggle. I can't wait to spoil him rotten.

I finally got the book today! It feels like it took forever! I flipped through it and it is really aimed at amateurs so that is just fine with me. I need to sit down and read it. It is gonna be a quick read but I've got to find a quiet moment (which should be easy for me, having no kids). So anyway, here is a picture of my sweet niece playing in her room. I really like this picture because it naturally turned out good. No editing needed. Just wanted to share!!

Waiting on the mail

So one of my favorite blogs is mainly for Photoshop and Photoshop Elements free actions!! The woman who writes it also tells us what she has had good luck using such as equipment, books, ect. Well she really recommended How to Photograph Your Baby so I decided to order it. It was $8.16 total off of Amazon.com!! That price made it even better!! I'm excited to see what I can learn. I love to take pictures but babies and children are my favorite. They aren't judgmental and if you know me then you know I am so self conscious!!! Anyway, just wanted to share. I'll let you know how it goes and if I can manage to learn anything!!

The beginning

Where do I start?? I'm Krista, a stay at home wife who is interested in photography so whenever possible, I like to shoot. I already have some shots taken so they could be new or could be old. Just wanting to share. I love looking at pictures so this is for those of you who share that with me. This is a friends little girl, Alexis. You will probably see much more of her.
